According to our wedding website, we’ve got thirty five days ’til our wedding.  Because of that, I’ve got vendor meetings on my to-do list.  Yesterday, The Mister and I met with our caterer and the manager at our reception site so that we could discuss how things are gonna be laid out and everything.  Our reception’s going to be at a mansion rather than a banquet hall, so the planning was a little more involved I think.  Here’s the layout:

The top part of the paper is where the entrance is and as you can see, each room will have food in it.  But the caterer’s doing a progressive meal.  So appetizers will be in the front two rooms, then they’ll get taken away and dinner will be in the middle two rooms, then that’ll get taken away, then “nibbles”‘ and dessert will be in the back room.  There’ll be sit down tables interspersed with bistro height table all in the hopes of encouraging folks to mix and mingle.  The dj will set up in the front (top) left room in a bay window and the bar is in the back room, which will mainly be a transition room with just a couple of tables.  The back room also has the bathrooms and leads to the super sweet patio.

Anyhoo, it was very exciting to walk through the mansion again…it’s truly gorgeous and I know the guests will love it.  Next up:  meet with the photographer, dj, and baker.

That’s wonderful. Will you have a day of coordinator who will ensure all vendors are present, timely and doing what they need to do? I was going to hire one but I think I’ll just ask a “professional” friend to do it.

I will! Two of the ladies I work with will act as coordinators. One used to be an actual wedding coordinator in her previous life and the other manages all of our major events here at work, so I’ll be in good hands.
