It’s cute because it’s a bear…get it? Ring bear-er? *slapping knee* Well, at least the five year old who’s wearing it will think it’s funny. (I think it’s adorable!).
flower girl March 9, 2010
Our flower girl is a cutie and is looking forward to getting all dressed up for the wedding…but she’s six so she didn’t really know what all of the fuss was about. She didn’t really get what “engaged” was or why she should be excited that we asked her to do this.
Then she heard she had to walk down the aisle and got a bit nervous. So we got her a book about being a flower girl and went through it with her a few times, so now she at least understands what a “rehearsal dinner” is and that she’s going to have to take lots of pictures on the wedding day. Here’s the book we got:
That’s a screen shot because the site wouldn’t let me copy directly. I thought this was pretty cute. Do you have a nervous flower girl? Any advice for us? What about cute gifts…have you seen any cheap (but cutesie) gifts for a six year old girl?
the dream January 18, 2010
I’m sure I’m not the only one who’ll be writing about Martin Luther King today, but here’s my wedding spin on things. He talked about “little black boys and black girls will be able to join hands with little white boys and white girls as sisters and brothers.” How proud would he be of our country if he saw us now…no things aren’t perfect, but so much better! We’ve got to celebrate the small steps people.
This is my maid of honor:
Isn’t she cute? I don’t have a sister, so she’s as close as I’ll get. Let’s call her Miss M…she’s sassy, strong, focused, successful, fun, a woman of God, and just all around great. We’re both coaches and it’s rare to find someone in our field (a male-dominated field I might add) that I vibe with…that gets me. And Miss M does and she’s been an amazing blessing from God in my life.
On a side note, why can’t my smile be like Miss M’s? Mine’s all extra large and hers is all cute and dainty, hmmmpft! I like the smile, but can I get it in a size medium please?
